We are delighted to invite you to the first public event of the Sharing FutureS project, taking place on June 13th, 2025, at Hotel ODELYA in Basel.
Sharing FutureS is a research-based method that explores how narratives – books, films, series, and social media – can support young adults’ mental well-being and strengthen their ability to cope with future-related concerns, especially those linked to climate change. The method draws on findings from narrative studies and psychology.
This first phase of the project was made possible through funding from the BRIDGE Proof of Concept program (SNSF and Innosuisse), which supports the real-world application of academic research.
Between February 2024 and January 2025, the Sharing FutureS project team reached two key milestones in Basel:
Survey with 237 participants from local schools and universities, exploring hopes, worries, narrative habits, climate concerns, and mental health.
Sharing FutureS Program, a 6-week program with four groups of young adults, which showed positive effects on mental well-being, social connectedness, and “climate hope.”
We now look forward to sharing the key results and opening up a space for exchange with educators, researchers, policymakers, cultural workers, and young adults about the future development and application of this method.
